Background.
K+K Research is a development team working with audio compression technology. We
combine forces from other tasks, our main programmer (KA) is a very skilled programmer
working in C++ (and other languages). Our main optimizer (KM) has long time experience
from beta-testing various other programs and has been working in the audio field for two
decades.
Products.
AAC technology is the latest MPEG audio compression
(like MP3 but better quality in lower bitrate). We can see broad
range of applications for AAC , and it could very well be the
format for future sales of music tracks over the Internet. With
still more companies supporting AAc (in hardware players etc.) we
have noticed a steadily growing interest for AAC.
TAC technology can give very high audio quality
and it uses our ABM (Adaptive Bitrate Managing) technology to determine what
bitrate ensures perfect quality in a given music track.
(with comprehensive analyzing followed by encoding).
2-channel Applications.
The main application for our AAC and TAC is Music
Publishing over the Internet , other uses would be studio => radio transfer , studio => post production transfer or
similar.
Naturally all high quality computer music,
, multimedia jukebox, radio station usage , and similar are applications for which
AAC and TAC is
well suited.
Multi-channel Applications.
We don't at present support multi-channel
encoding, users in this field are requested
to contact us.
TAC compared to AAC.
Our main goal with TAC was to have the
possibility to get even higher audio quality (virtually lossless
compression) without the limitations implied in ISO AAC .
We have done so by implementing several techniques not possible in AAC and also by using
our ABM , which is basically a bitrate optimizer ( somewhat like VBR) but smarter in
several ways....
Prices and Licensing.
If you are interested in using our TAC
or AAC technology in your software don't hesitate to contact us.
Our technology is the best in the business and our pricing is
competitive.
